EIS income tax relief — worth 30% of each investment — can be clawed back if material inconsistencies in DD are discovered post-investment. Cross-document consistency checking is included on every plan, automatically. A year of Scale, paid annually, costs about 4.4% of the relief at stake on a single typical deal.

Free deals support up to 5 angels. A pitch that attracts genuine interest typically exceeds this, which is exactly when the group most needs the full feature set.

Questions, answered

When is the per-project fee charged?

Only when a project moves to the DD stage; ie a pitch has been made, angels have expressed interest, and a lead investor has been appointed. Screened-and-declined projects, and pitches with no angel interest, incur no per-project fee.

What does a typical Scale group pay in a year?

A group screening 15 pitches a year with a 10% funding conversion rate would expect 1–2 DD-stage projects a month. Paid annually, that's £1,990 plus roughly £600–£1,200 in project fees — typically £2,590–£3,190 a year.

Can an entrepreneur use the platform for free?

Entrepreneurs access the platform by invitation from their group and use the entrepreneur-side features at no cost to themselves.  The group's subscription covers their access.

Is there a contract or minimum term?

No contract and no minimum term. Scale and Pro are billed monthly or annually and you can cancel a monthly plan any time. Annual plans are billed upfront for the year. Your data is available for export for 90 days after cancellation, after which it's deleted per the retention policy.

What happens when we hit the free tier limits?

At 3 concurrent active projects or 5 angels on a deal, the platform shows a clear upgrade prompt. Existing projects keep working.  Nothing is locked or deleted. Upgrade any time to remove the limits.
